Cllr. Mary Mears
BH2020/03217 – 74 Dean Court Road, Rottingdean
24/11/2020:
As a ward councillor for Rottingdean Coastal I wish to object to the above planning application for the following reasons:
This retrospective planning application is for a “play House” issues have been rises with the proposed site plan with the staircase less than 60cm from the boundary fence, and is proposed to be 6 foot high with a roof to be added.
Concerns have been raised with the elevation plan not being correct as shows a gap of 92cm but is actually 60cm at the nearest point.
The description on the application form is for a “Children play house” but the scale and massing indicates a large wooden construction of 13.5 sq. metres with the floor level raised to the height of the boundary fence with a roof to be added for a further 2.3m.
The height and the position of the platform with the wooden staircase access with no screening will generate constate noise, when used for business not just leisure.
This will constantly impact on the neighbouring property and in my view will have a serious detrimental effect on the neighbours at 72 Dean Court Road, with the loss of privacy and their enjoyment of their entire rear garden
Should the decision be to grant this planning application under delegated powers, I wish this planning application to go to the planning committee and reserve my right to speak.
